Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 July 2026 · draft, pending owner review
This policy explains what Hotshard collects and why. The short version: we collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your data.
What we collect
- Account data. If you sign in, our authentication provider Clerk stores your identifier (such as your email). We use it to link your saved progress to you.
- Learning progress. Which topics and scenarios you have worked through, so your progress follows you across devices when signed in.
- Payment data. When paid plans launch, payments are processed by Razorpay. We store only your subscription status and the Razorpay reference ids needed to manage it — never your full card or UPI details, which Razorpay handles.
- Feedback. Anything you submit through the feedback form, plus a hashed (never raw) form of your IP address for spam protection.
- Error and usage data. If enabled, our error-monitoring provider Sentry records technical details of crashes so we can fix them.
How we use it
To run the site, save your progress, process payments, respond to feedback, and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers named above (Clerk, Razorpay, Sentry) and our hosting and database providers, each acting on our behalf to run the site. They receive only what they need for their function.
Your choices
You can use most of the site without an account. You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us through the feedback page.
